We’ve been filling Kiwi pantries for over 50 years with delicious goodness loaded with fruit and veg from jams to syrups, chutneys, sauces, dressings, meal sauces and more. Our range keeps growing, but we’re not slowing down. And now, we're making Marinades.

Not only is this an entirely new range for us, but also a new format and a fresh new look for Barker's!

While lockdowns may be a thing of the past (phew!), the cooking skills we learned are here to stay. We don’t have to cook to survive anymore. There’s room for cooking for pleasure now too.

So, our Marinades allow you to make the meal your own. Coat tofu, fish, steaks, wings, nibbles, chops, ribs – any kind of protein, and pick your own sides. We’re saving you time and helping make cooking for your whānau or guests stress-free and enjoyable.

There are 5 authentically inspired flavours – Honey Soy, Smokey BBQ, Lemongrass, Plum & 5 Spice, and Fiery Wings. All are designed to go with whatever choice of protein you prefer.

Honey Soy

First up is our Honey Soy Marinade. This is the ultimate flavour combination to please even the fussiest of eaters. Try coating tofu and frying for a deliciously crispy salad bowl on your Meatless Mondays. Or if tofu isn’t for you, stack up some skewers with chicken and veg and put them under the grill.

Lemongrass

Craving Vietnamese flavours? The Lemongrass Marinade is a mouth-watering blend of lemongrass, lime, and ginger to give your taste buds a fresh zingy hit. Salmon doesn’t have to be scary when you’re coating it in our Marinade and popping it in the oven with veg. Or take some inspo from a Vietnamese Banh Mi with this tasty pork salad.

Smokey BBQ

Your ribs will be thanking you for our finger-licking Smokey BBQ Marinade. Smokey flavours with the addition of chipotle chilli, will leave a little zing on the lips. For the perfect ribs, follow our directions here. Or create the ultimate Sunday lunch with this Smokey Steak Sandwich.

Plum & 5 Spice

With delish NZ Plums with aromatic Asian spices, our Plum & 5 Spice Marinade is the perfect flavour combo if it's your turn to host BBQ night. Finger-food can be filling too with these fluffy Sticky Chicken Bao Buns.

Fiery Wings

Last but certainly not least is the Fiery Wings Marinade. We couldn’t call it fiery without packing a punch. This one is for the heat lovers. The Marinade itself is vegan-friendly so you can opt for cauliflower nibbles if chicken isn’t for you.

Pay close attention to the back of the packaging. We’ve added a QR code which can be easily scanned taking you directly to more recipe inspiration on our website.

The good news is our pouches are soft plastic recyclable. Give them a wash and return them to your local supermarket to be recycled.
