Your Guide to Barker's Smoothie Bases

Spring is here! The weather is warming, so you may be feeling like it is time to mix up the menu – and we have your breakfasts covered!

We recently released an exciting new product range – Barker’s Fruit Smoothie Bases. You may have spotted these colourful bottles on the website already, or at our Foodstore in South Melbourne.

They come in three fruity flavours – Mixed Berry, Mango & Passionfruit, and Kiwifruit & Pineapple with Spirulina. Blend them up with milk of your choosing, ice, and yoghurt, or get creative with whatever you have on hand. Made from 97% fruit, and no refined sugar, these Smoothie Bases make it easy for the whole family to get some extra Vitamin C, which not only gives your immune system a boost, but also helps your body to absorb iron.

All three Smoothie Bases are a fantastic way to add some flavour and added fruity goodness to your post-workout protein shake. Check out this recipe for our Vanilla Berry Protein Smoothie using our Mixed Berry Smoothie Base.

If your pump-session runs over and you're short on time, you could always combine all your ingredients in the blender cup the night before and store it in the fridge, ready use in a hurry.

Piña Coladas are a delicious cocktail, but not something we'd recommend for first thing in the morning. We have a breakfast-friendly Tropical Colada Smoothie using our Mango & Passionfruit Smoothie Base, coconut milk and frozen pineapple (if you want to add a splash of white rum for your next cocktail night, we won’t stop you!)
